Does Anyone Else Have This Problem With Guys?

I'm okay-looking girl. Most people don't find me attractive. I wouldn't call myself ugly but I would not call myself hideous. I'm around average. So since I'm around average I've tried to kind of lower my standards for men since I'm not exactly a looker. But then I've noticed I've been insulted numerous on my looks by men most people wouldn't consider attractive either. NO offense but why is it that "not so attractive" guys seem to have HIGHEST STANDARDS for women. I would think if someone was humbler in their physical appearance they would maybe compromise. Has anyone came across these problems as a women? For me, I'm trying to eliminate looks in my standard but it seems like guys seem to keep rejecting me based on my looks.
